Driver File Management

Contact our office regarding the Driver Qualification File Management Service we are now providing. An online storage of driver records, monthly emails of items in the file that are delinquent or are about to expire. The online files can be review by your office and by a DOT safety auditor. It is an efficient way to meet the driver qualification requirements.

The FMCSA has issued the new HOS rule.  Click here to see the 2011 HOS Final Rule Revisions.
 
The states are now requiring each CDL driver to update their CDL records with a current copy of their medical card. The FMCSA now requires that all drivers re-certify their CDL license with one of four categories and submit their medical card if the driver is an interstate driver. This process must be completed by January 30, 2014 or the CDL will be cancelled.
 
A final rule to restrict the use of hand-held cellphones for drivers of commercial vehicles is set to take effect on Jan. 1, 2012. This rule cracks down on hand-held phone usage but still allows a driver to communicate on the device using hands-free operation. 
 
 
CSA - Compliance, Safety and Accountability (formally Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010) scores are now available for the public to view. The scores will change monthly based on the performance of the entire pool your company is in. Contact us if you would like your percentages reviewed.
 
The UCR filings for 2012 is now being enforced. The filings made with the states must be verified at the federal level.  All companies that operate single vehicles or combination vehicles over 10,000 GVW must register under the UCR. Please contact us if you have not verified the filing with the DOT.
 
FMCSA has banned texting while driving commercial motor vehicles. Truck drivers that are caught texting could be fined up to $2,750.
 
U.S. drivers that transport hazardous goods into or out of Canada must be adequately trained and hold a training certificate. Their training certificate is proof of training a must be provided to an inspector upon request. Drivers will have to carry their certificates with them. Enforcement has begun.
